Before the global markets were swamped with manufactured sweets and chocolate, Palestinian families were making their own sweets at home to enjoy at all meals. As Hebron is very famous for its vineyards, its people use grapes to make the black grape sweet molasses (Dibes) to eat it with Tahini or on its own. HananZedat was eager to start producing the sweet Dibes as a requested product in the Palestinian market as a means to generate income to support her family. The homestay program offered her the chance to receive training in the production of the grape molasses, which takes both time and effort, in order to expand her business, sell the product in the Palestinian market and distribute it to other homestays.
